My name is Annisha Singh and I’m actually from New York and I’ve lived here my whole life. However, I love the country life, upstate New York in the fall is the best view and I would love to live there. Fall is my favorite season because of the pumpkins, hot chocolate, and apple picking. My hobbies are swimming, playing tennis, and watching movies. I like all genres of movies but comedy overall because I love laughing and cracking jokes, my favorite kind of jokes are puns. Something else I love is watching are plays and they don’t necessarily have to be on Broadway. I’m really trying to learn more about musicals and listen to more songs from musicals. My favorite musical is “Waitress” the story itself is heartwarming, the songs are catchy, and I love pie (the main character bakes pies). Other than pie, food is the way to my heart and I love trying new foods especially from different cultures, right now I really want to try ramen and sushi. When I’m older I want to travel to so many places, the number one place on my list is Turkey because during quarantine I stumbled upon Turkish TV shows and now I watch them all the time. The country itself is beautiful and the food looks really good. Another goal I have for myself is to learn a lot of languages just so I can go to a bunch of countries, I feel it’s important to learn other countries native languages while traveling. That’s why when I watch international shows and movies I keep the English subtitles on to help learn the languages. I aspire to pursue a career in English and writing, I either want to become a photojournalist or a journalist. I’m the first generation to attend college in my family so I really want to do well throughout my college career, but also want to pursue a career I love and not one I feel obligate to choose. I’m determined to graduate with a bachelor’s degree most likely in English Literature and a minor in journalism. I also want to do a lot of charity work and help people in developing countries especially visit where my parents come from, Trinidad and Tobago. My guidance counselor says I’m a “go getter” and I want to live up that by becoming a good writer, improving my writing skills, and get a good job in the future.
